Parish Outreach: Serving at the Men and Women’s Shelters

St. Pius Parish is grateful to have had the opportunity to serve at both the men’s shelter in November and the women’s homeless shelter in December. These outreach efforts reflect our continued commitment to living out our faith through service, compassion, and community support.

During these visits, parish volunteers came together to provide meals, fellowship, and encouragement to those experiencing difficult circumstances. It was a meaningful reminder of the importance of kindness and human connection.

We are thankful for the volunteers who generously gave their time and hearts to this ministry, as well as those who supported these efforts through prayer and encouragement. Your willingness to serve truly embodies the mission of our parish.

The Lenten Season

As we enter into the sacred season of Lent, we are gently reminded to slow our hearts, reflect deeply, and draw closer to the Lord.

Lent is not just a time of sacrifice, but a time of renewal, a season to grow in prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare our hearts for Easter. It is an invitation to walk with Christ and to open ourselves more fully to God’s grace.

May this Lenten season be filled with quiet reflection, strengthened faith, and a renewed sense of purpose in our spiritual journey. Let us support one another in prayer, kindness, and devotion as a parish community.

We invite all parishioners and families of St. Pius to journey through Lent together in faith, hope, and love.

Blessings to you and your family during this holy season.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” — Psalm 51:10

Fiat Chalice Program

The Fiat Chalice Program is a meaningful way for families to pray for more priests and religious leaders in our diocese. Our church needs dedicated priests, and this program allows us to support and encourage those discerning a vocation to the priesthood or religious life. Each week, we invite volunteers and families to take home a special blessed chalice, a powerful symbol of the priesthood, and dedicate time to praying for more vocations. While the chalice is in your home, your family is encouraged to pray together, fostering a deeper connection to faith and demonstrating support for those considering a life of service in the Church.

Once a family receives the chalice, they are encouraged to place it in a place of honor within their home. Throughout the week, during daily prayer—whether in the morning, at bedtime, or during meals—the family prays for more individuals to answer the call to religious vocations. The following Sunday or Saturday before mass, the chalice is returned to its designated place (the sacristy) so the priest knows it has been brought back and can be given to the next family.

This program will continue through 2025, and we welcome all families to participate. A sign-up sheet is available at the back of the church.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the families who have already taken part in this special program. Your prayers and commitment are deeply appreciated. Below are some pictures of the families who have participated in this faith-filled experience.
