Parish Outreach: Serving at the Men and Women’s Shelters

St. Pius Parish is grateful to have had the opportunity to serve at both the men’s shelter in November and the women’s homeless shelter in December. These outreach efforts reflect our continued commitment to living out our faith through service, compassion, and community support.

During these visits, parish volunteers came together to provide meals, fellowship, and encouragement to those experiencing difficult circumstances. It was a meaningful reminder of the importance of kindness and human connection.

We are thankful for the volunteers who generously gave their time and hearts to this ministry, as well as those who supported these efforts through prayer and encouragement. Your willingness to serve truly embodies the mission of our parish.

Parishioners decorating the church for Christmas

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the faithful parishioners who dedicated their time and effort to decorate the church for the holy season of Christmas. Your work has beautifully prepared our sacred space to reflect the joy and glory of Christ’s birth.

The Wild Game Dinner was a huge success

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and contributed to our Wild Game Dinner. We extend a special thank you to Kris and Ann Tadish for their tremendous efforts in bringing this beloved event back into our community. We had an incredible turnout, and it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves. The funds raised for St. Pius Church were truly remarkable. We are so grateful for the support of such an amazing community! Here are a few photos from the event.

Vacation Bible School

This year’s Vacation Bible School was a true blessing. Each day the children sang, crafted and played, but more importantly they soaked up lessons about God’s love and how to live it out. It was wonderful to watch shy youngsters blossom as they acted out Bible stories, memorized verses and sang their hearts out. Volunteers from our church family guided the kiddos through games, snacks and heartfelt prayer. As the week wrapped up, the kids not only had a lot of fun but carried home new friendships and an appreciation for Scripture. We’re already looking forward to VBS next year, trusting that God will again bring learning, laughter and growth to our little flock.

Year 2 of “Lead with Love”

What an incredible time of friendship, faith, and service. This special mission brought our parish youth together not only to bond and grow in their faith, but to make a real difference in the lives of others within our community. These young teens are shining examples of what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ—serving with joy, compassion, and heart.

A heartfelt thank you to Joan for the delicious dinner, to Ava for designing our amazing shirts, to the adult volunteers who set all this up, and to all those who welcomed us with drinks and treats along the way.

We worked hard, prayed deeply, and played joyfully.
Leading with love truly changes hearts—especially our own.

With Sincere Gratitude – St. Michael Statue

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Matt Hogan for generously dedicating his time and talent to build and install the beautiful shelving for our newly blessed St. Michael statue. Your craftsmanship and service are deeply appreciated—thank you, Matt!

The original St. Michael statue was unfortunately damaged and has been replaced by the statue currently on display. Efforts are underway to restore the original statue, which, once repaired, will be presented to Father Demos as a lasting tribute and meaningful reminder of the St. Pius Parish community.

Lawn Mower Donation

We are deeply grateful to Koehne’s Motorsport and an anonymous donor for their generous gift to St. Pius Parish—a brand new 60-volt Toro battery-powered lawn mower.

This thoughtful donation replaces our older corded electric mower, which relied on multiple extension cords, and will greatly enhance our efforts to maintain the beauty of our parish grounds.

Thank you for helping keep St. Pius looking its best!

Landscaping Cleanup Workday

Thank you to our landscaping volunteers! On May 10, a dedicated group of volunteers from our parish came together to help with landscaping at St. Pius Church. Thanks to their hard work and generous spirit, the church grounds look beautiful and well cared for. We are so grateful for the time and effort each person gave to help keep our parish a welcoming and vibrant place!

First Holy Communion

We were blessed to witness a truly special moment in the lives of our 2nd graders as they received their First Holy Communion. Surrounded by the love and support of their families, friends and parish community, the day was filled with joy, reverence and the grace of God’s presence. It was a beautiful reminder of the importance of faith and the journey each of us takes in growing closer to Christ. We are so proud of our candidates for reaching this important milestone, and we pray that their hearts remain open to the love of Jesus today and always.

Thank you to all the parents, catechists, clergy and especially Father Demos who guided and supported these children in their preparation. This day will be remembered with deep gratitude and joy for years to come.

Bishop’s Appeal

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news—St. Pius has exceeded our Bishop’s Appeal goal, reaching an incredible 110%! Congratulations to our entire parish community for this outstanding achievement! Your generosity and commitment are a true reflection of the spirit of stewardship and faith that lives within St. Pius. Thank you to each and every one of you who contributed to this important appeal. Your support helps extend the mission of the Church, reaching those in need and strengthening vital ministries across our diocese. May God continue to bless our parish and each of you for your faithful hearts and generous spirits!
